QUNIE conducts a demonstration experiment for realizing Smart City in Romania
-Commissioned by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) of Japan to conduct research and verification in line with the priority areas of the MIC's "Global Promotion Action Plan 2025”-
Tokyo, Japan – June 20, 2023 – The Japanese consultancy firm, QUNIE (NTT DATA Group; Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Shigeki Yamaguchi; company referred to as QUNIE), was commissioned by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) to conduct a Demonstration Experiment to Realize a Smart City Using ICT in Romania. This experiment will be conducted in the city of Cluj-Napoca. Details of this research and demonstration were announced at the Romanian-Japanese Innovation Forum (in Cluj-Napoca, Romania) held on June 19 and 20, 2023.
This commissioned work is part of the ICT Solutions initiative, which is one of the priority areas to be strengthened in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications Global Promotion Action Plan 2025 formulated by the Ministry in July 2022.
In cooperation with the City of Cluj-Napoca, the project will develop and verify the effectiveness of the ClujID, a self-authenticating digital certificate application that combines encryption technology, AI, distributed ledger technology including blockchain, and biometric authentication technology to ensure security.

QUNIE published a Metaverse Business Survey Report
-Based on a survey of 500 people, 13 characteristics of failed metaverse commercializations are identified-
Tokyo, Japan – May 23, 2023 –The Japanese consultancy firm, QUNIE (NTT DATA Group; Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Ken Tsuchihashi; company referred to as QUNIE) conducted a survey on the reality of metaverse business targeting business professionals who have been involved in considering the metaverse commercialization. The report was released today.
The purpose of this survey was to understand the status of metaverse business initiatives and to identify factors contributing to the success or failure of its commercialization. The screening survey results found that 91.9% of the initiatives that were determined to be successful or unsuccessful in operationalizations had failed.
Further narrowing down the analysis, the report compares failed and successful cases to identify characteristics of metaverse businesses that fail to commercialize from the perspectives of "concept and business model," "evaluation process," and "organization and structure." The findings are summarized into 13 key points. Additionally, the report includes insights for creating a successful business in the metaverse based on interview results from 20 individuals and its consulting experiences presented as “QUNIE’s Recommendations.”
*In this report, metaverse is defined as "a virtual space separate from the real world where users can communicate with each other on the internet using avatars.

Visualizing the present condition of supply chains, the Supply Chain Network Redesign identifies supply chain issues from four perspectives of supply costs, supply chain disruption risks, GHG and ESG to help businesses redesign supply chain networks after considering all these factors. For the visualization and optimization simulation, the Supply Chain Network Design Application, the digital tool developed by Dutch firm AIMMS, will be utilized to support the analysis and redesign of complex supply chain networks. QUNIE begins on-site study towards smart cities in Colombia
- Japanese Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications’ commissioned study of “International ICT Strategy”
Tokyo, Japan – February 7, 2023 – The Japanese consultancy firm, QUNIE (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Ken Tsuchihashi; company referred to as QUNIE), has been commissioned by the Japanese Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications to conduct the "Research and Verification Project towards Smart Cities Utilizing ICT in the Republic of Colombia". The on-site study began in the city of Cartagena, Colombia on February 6, 2023.
This is part of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications' efforts to support the international expansion of Japan’s strength in high-quality ICT services and to assist problem-solving initiatives within target countries. The verification study is to take place in cooperation with the city of Cartagena, alongside the support of Colombia's Ministry for the Information and Communications Technologies.
To bolster the country's smart cities initiatives, the effectiveness of ICT technology adoption will be examined within the two areas of: "Citizen participation for solving urban problems” via mobile applications etc., and "Cultural Heritage Protection" via sensors.

QUNIE estimates on courier delivery capacity by 2030

Tokyo, Japan - November 30, 2022 – A Japanese consultancy firm, QUNIE CORPORATION (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Ken Tsuchihashi; company referred to as QUNIE) has released a report in Japanese on courier delivery capacity on November 30, 2022. This report is based on QUNIE's own estimates of the driver shortage amid the increase in the number of parcel delivery services, aiming to get a picture of the situation and the root cause of shortages expected in the near future in order to develop specific countermeasures. In addition to the number of deliveries and drivers, QUNIE has focused on trucks to forecast delivery capacity through 2030.
